What is the Benefits of Using Borage Oil?
Borage Oil, also known as Starflower oil Borago officinalis is obtained from the seed and is rich in essential fatty acids and is excellent for skin problems.
This oil is the richest source of GLA (gamma linolenic acid), it has 2 to 3 times more than evening primrose oil.
GLA is a precursor in the production of prostaglandins, normally manufactured by the body, but if you have inefficient production it can lead to skin and other disorders. GLA is very important to maintain healthy body tissue.
This oil also contains small amounts of oleic acid (10-20%) and linoleic acid (34-42%).
It is extracted by cold pressing.
This oil is suitable for mature skin it is very nourishing and moisturizing. Because of its nourishing properties, it is often used for dandruff and dry, scaly skin conditions, prematurely aged skin, eczema and psoriasis. Use is also extended to heart disease, PMT and menopause.
Use it in your day and night creams and hand and body lotions.
You can use this oil in a 10% solution adding it to other lighter 100% use oils. It is an expensive oil.
