Can you become healthier and avoid illness and disease by eating healthy foods?

Learn how food can help heal your body by choosing healthy foods and learning to prepare them correctly.

Instead of just treating symptoms (or covering them up like prescription drugs do) learn to help your body become balanced and start healing itself so you can stay healthy . Your body was made to do that if it is given the right stuff.

There are a number of things you can do in your daily life that has to do with nutrition and food to keep yourselve healthy. Some things are simple and just common sense like eating healthy and drinking water but there are other things that you may not have considered or even known about.

Are you really what you eat?
Can eating healthy help you stay well?
Can it help ward off illness and diseases?
Does what you eat contribute to poor health, a painful existence and even shortened a life span?


Our bodies can be completely out of balance depending on what we put in and on it. When our bodies are out of balance it can be the root of illness and disease of many kinds. Eating Healthy can keep our bodies balanced.

Learn how to keep yourself healthy by eating healthy. If you are already unhealthy, put the brakes on, make changes to become healthy. The quality and length of your life could depend on it.

Don’t just depend on the doctors and the prescriptions they give you. They don’t make you healthy. Get the knowledge and make the changes.

I know it is easier said than done - as habits are hard to change. Make small changes that can make a big impact and become new habits. You don't have to do it all at once, start slow with small steps, when that becomes habit add something else. Or if you want you can go all out - do what ever fits you.

If you do nothing else I suggest just start eating more fresh foods and less processed food. The closest form to how it was grown is the best form for your body to use. Start getting rid of the prepackaged foods with all the additives and preservatives. You will be amazed at what just doing that can do for you.

Eating healthy does not have to be boring. No matter if you feel you should eat no meat at all, or eat meat, eat whole grains or no grains, only organic or even a completely raw foods diet you should be able to find something here of interest for you.

Physical Exericise

This isn’t eating but don’t forget the physical active part, it doesn’t have to strenuous just try to do something everyday. Get out and breathe some fresh air and sunshine,(you need that vitamin D) you might as well put that energy you will have from eating healthy to good use.

Detox and Cleanse

Everyone should do a detox cleansing program at least every once in awhile, especially if you are just starting out trying to get healthy. You want to clean out your body systems, get rid of all the junk and toxins that are in your body so when you are eating healthy your body can use the nutrients. By doing this you are getting your body ready and balanced so it can absorb and assimilate the needed vitamins, minerals and nutrients you are going to be adding to your diet by eating healthy. When you body is not balanced the nutrients are being blocked and not used effectively by your body. Then get the toxins out of your life so you don’t just keep putting them back in.

When your body environment is detoxified you can have increased energy, clearer skin, fewer headaches, a decrease in the heavy bloating feeling, better weight management. You can eat less and not feel hungry as your body is absorbing more of the nutrients.

But be prepared to feel lousy at first as your body is fighting you about getting all those toxins out. Just like any addiction has withdrawals - you body can have withdrawals when you star detoxing and eating healthy.

Alkalizing

Here is another easy thing that you can do to keep yourself healthy. Many of the foods we eat cause our body to become acidity instead alkaline, even when we are eating healthy. The pH of the body is a range of 0 to 14: O is totally acid with 14 totally alkaline and 7 neutral. Our blood is a pH of 7.365, which is slightly alkaline.

Our body constantly tries to balance itself. To do this when our body is too acidity it will find alkalizing minerals it needs that are stored in our body like calcium from the bones and magnesium from the muscles. Too much acid causes oxygen levels to drop and metabolism to stop. Our cells begin to die, our bones become brittle, our muscles weaken, our joints stiffen and become painful, we have problems losing weight, we get painful headaches and many other illness and problems. At first you don’t notice it but after awhile you will, as your body becomes unhealthier.

Disease lives and thrives in an acid environment but cannot thrive in an alkaline one.

There are simple ways to alkalize your body. One way is to just take a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar three times a day.

mixes up well and I think it taste good, it is a powerful addition to your diet. A whole green food supplement that includes green, yellow, and red vegetables along with berries, herbs and sea vegetables providing vitamins, amino acids, and enzymes besides helping to keep our body alkalized. I decided to have my husband start drinking it, the first couple times he didn’t know if he liked drinking it. It didn’t take long before he was drinking extra servings and missing it if you forgot to mix it up and send it to work with him (I could not get him to drink plain water so this helped get him to drink water). When he took it to work it was in a water bottle with a spout and he didn't like drinking it from the spout so I tried something else. I started making him a herbal infusion of nettle and oatstraw and now he drinks that all the time, and he doesn't mind it from the spout on his water bottle. He is getting his water and all the vitamines and minerals from the herbs. Plus herbal infusions are very reasonable in cost.

Sometimes I drink it mixed with water with a little lemon juice. (I don't mind drinking plain water) I also use this superfood herbal powder supplement sometimes. This herbal food supplement is easy to add to your diet just add a tablespoon or two to jucie or water. I mix mine up in a big glass of water and add ice (I don't like it when it is not cold) and drink during the day. It does have a little spicy taste because of cayenne pepper, but I hardly notice it any more. It has barley grass, spirulina, beet root, carrot, kelp, turmeric, and cayenne pepper which gives your vitamins, minerals and a number of other health benefits which makes it a good nutritional base for eating healthy.

Everyone knows that eating fast food is not eating healthy, but there are a lot more unhealthy foods to consider.

Stop and think about the different foods around us and on the shelves at the store. How many of those foods are over processed, pre-packaged, full of preservatives, empty calories, full of refined grains and sugars, etc.
How much of the food is actually healthy for us?
How much of it provides us with the nutrients our bodies need to stay healthy and fighting off illness and disease?

Another thing to consider with food and eating healthy is the sugar. Too much sugar is just not good for you, plus it adds a lot of calories to your diet. Sugar subsitutes are even worse health wise for you than sugar - even if they don't have the calories. Plus they taste awful is you just hate that diet taste. I have finally found a natural stevia sugar subsite that isn't bad and doesn't have that awful diet taste(and I have tired lots of them). They have a couple different blends (that do not contain Maltodextrin) and also a pure stevia powder. Once you learn how to use them (you use less than you do sugar) you can hardly tell you didn't use sugar. Enzymes and Probiotics

Even when eating healthy A lot of the foods we eat are cooked at high temperature, over cooked or processed which destroys the natural enzymes and make it difficult to digest the food.
Without the enzymes you cannot assimilate nutrients from your food.

So unless you are getting a large quantity of raw foods in your diet you should take a probiotics and digestive enzymes supplement. Our intestinal tract is the home of trillions of microorganism, some which are bad but most of them good. They aid digestion, absorption of nutrients, and inhibit the growth of disease-promoting bacteria.
