Pets and Toxins
Did you know that pets in America are polluted with all kinds of toxic chemicals that the government does not regulate?
Do you have a bird? Do you own a non-stick Teflon pan?
Did you know that if you over heat your non-stick pan (by accident of course) that it causes Teflon Toxicosis? When a non-stick pan is over-heated it releases toxic chemicals into the air. These chemicals are very damaging to a birds respiratory system. Your bird could become very sick or even die instantly.
Did you know that your cat can get a chemical build-up from the mercury in the canned cat food you are feeding it? We need to learn how to read labels even for our cats and dogs food and know what we are looking for so we can avoid harming them, they depend on us. Choose foods without chemical preservatives BHA, BHT and exothyquin and vary your cats’ diets to limit their exposure to mercury in seafood.
Does your cat or dog like to lay around on your deck? They can absorb arsenic from the deck (especially if it was built before 2005) into there bodies. How about the pesticides we put on our lawns, they can cause nervous system damage in your cat or dog when they walk on or eat the treated grass.
And those flea collars you put on your cats and dogs, they are generally ineffective and a source of constant toxic exposure to them and your family.
Have you heard of perfluorinated chemicals? They are found in stain repellents you can have put on your couches, carpets and car upholstery and can even be found in the lining of your dogs food bag.
They need our help, we need to watch out for their health just like we do for ourselves and our families, they depend on us.
