I will briefly go over these ten starter essential oils, if you want more information on each oil you can go on and study more about them on their page in the individual oil section.
These ten starter essential oils will help you get started with out getting overwhelmed with all the choices and you can still have an excellent variety of essential oils that you can do a lot with.
These basic ten essential oils are in no way the only ones you could choose to start out with. They are just some that give a good variety and would be a good starting place. But you can choose any you would want to start out with.

There is a basic aromatherapy and essential oil starter kit that includes nine of these basic ten essential oils in their basic ten essential oil kit. There are also essential oil starter kits for the medicine cabinet, women, baby, relaxation, invigoration, and citrus oils.
Let's get starting learning a little about these
ten basic starter essential oils.
The first starter essential oils we are going to look at is Cedarwood Atlas (Cedrus atlantica)
This oil is one of the rare cedarwood species from Morocco.
It is a versatile, all-purpose oil that assists as a astringent and cleaning agent in your body.
Is an exhilarating tonic for the scalp and face, helps with dandruff and acne.
Can also be used for soothing muscle rub.
For the respiratory tract it helps expel mucous.
Use for kidney and bladder infections and cystitis.
Can be used to address the Circulatory, Respiratory, and Urinary Systems and also the Skin.
The next one in the starter essential oils is Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea)
This oil is valuable for emotional and physical imbalances.
Emotionally it is beneficial for the nervous system: helping with stress, anxiety, and depression.
Physically it aids deep muscular pains.
It can help relieve sore throats and hoarseness with its calming and anti-inflammatory qualities.
Helps relieve PMS and menstrual pain and prevent hot flashes.
It can help to calm indigestion.
Use it for acne, inflammation and dandruff.
Can be used to address the Nervous, Muscular, Digestive, and Urinary Systems and the Skin.
Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens)
Can be used as an astringent while easing muscle spasms.
A facial tonic for oily skin.
Works well in a deodorant.
It supports the respiratory and circulatory systems.
Great to use to prevent colds from gettng a hold, at the first sign of a sore throat or runny nose use in a massage on the throat.
Helps to stop bleeding.
Use for hot flashes (combine with clary sage).
Helps stop excessive fluid loss -whether excessive perspiration, sweaty feet,runny nose or other.
Is a nice fragrance for use in bath and skin care products.
Can be used to address the Circulatory, Muscular, and Respiratory Systems. This is a good oil to include in your ten starter essential oils.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus)
One of the most cleansing essential oils.
Diffuse in a room to support the respiratory system especially during an illness.
Works wonders for coughs, colds, and flu.
Use to reduce fever.
Can help promote feelings of health and well-being.
Use around your house to disinfect and in the laundry for dust mites.
Can be used to address the Lymphatic (Immune) and Respiratory Systems and the Skin and for disinfecting around the house so it is a great one to include in your ten starter essential oils.

Geranium (Pelargonium odorantissiumum)
A rose like sent that is romantic and also practical, and helps with feelings of emotional security.
Its antiseptic and astringent properties make it useful oil to keep on hand.
Its really good for chapped skin and lips(mix with chamomile and lavender).
Use for frostbite,(combined with clove).
A good oil to soothe chilblains and help them disappear.
Aids in achieving an overall feeling of peace and health.
Works really good for depression.
Enhances skin tone.
Use in insect repellants.

That is the first five of the basic starter essential oils,
now lets go over the last five.
Lavender (Lavandula vera)
Its clean, fresh scent encourages feelings of exhilaration or relaxation.
Helps with healing wounds and reduces scaring.
Can help with headaches as it calms you.
Soothes tired muscles.
Helps you sleep restfully.
Keep a bottle in your kitchen as it works great on burns.
Can be used to address the Circulatory, Digestive, Endocrine, Lymphaatic (Immune), Muscular, and Nervous Systems and the Skin.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
Its invigorating aroma enhances alertness, memory, and mental clarity while erasing mental fatigue.
Use for any kind of shock or stress situation. Inhale some ond it will help you calm down to deal with the situation.
Aids in soothing a sore throat, fighting a cold or flu by stimulating the lymphatic system and kills germs while helping to expel mucous.
Works great for stomach ache, gas, nausea, motion sickness and morning sickness.
Helps relax tense, tight muscles.
Aids in relief of headache pain.

Orange (Citrus sinensis)
Can assist the body in boosting the immune system.
Can enhance your mood and soothe the spirit giving feelings of joy.
Works great as a room disinfectant during illness.
Use to heal mouth ulcers.
Enhances the condition of the skin. Can help with dry skin and also help clear up acne.
Because of its bactericidal and antiseptic qualities use it when you are coming down withe a cold or flu, it lifts your mood and also kills the germs.
Aids in digestion.
Use it to help reduce fever.
Can be used to address the Circulatory, Digestive, Lymphatic (Immune), Muscular, Nervous, and Respiratory Systems and the Skin.
A very agressively anti-microbial oil that helps sustain the body’s ability to address bacterial, fungal, and viral infections very effectively but is a very mild oil.
Good for a number of application, it is a very versitile essential oil.
You can use it on toenail fungus, athlete's feet, herpes, yeast infections, skin infections, ingrown toenails, toothaches, abcesses, infected gums, wart removeal, bug bites, cold sores, wounds, ear infections, ringworm, dandruff, burns, lice, and much more.

Wild Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Is a stimulant physically and mentally.
Add a few drops to your morning shower gel and you won't need that cup of coffee to get going.

Aids in the relief of headache pain.
Can be used for help with feeling of depression.

Be sure to find a good carrier oil to dilute your basic ten essential oils in. I like to use a combination of pure expeller and cold-pressed oils from grapeseed, safflower, primrose, and apricot kernel. It is really nice on your skin.
